At StayCoastal Vacations, we believe no question is a silly question. In fact, we encourage our guests to ask as many questions as possible! Why? Because we consider it a pleasure and honor to host you and your family. We strive to make your vacation escape easy! We’ve compiled 13 Frequently Asked Questions for you to review.

1. What should I NOT pack for my trip?

We provide the following items as an added convenience for your vacation!   

  1. Clean towels: bath, face, hand, kitchen and pool
  2. Freshly laundered linens: clean duvet covers, sheets, extra blankets, and protected pillows
  3. Luxurious bath toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body soaps
  4. Starter set of paper products: bath tissue, face tissue, paper towels
  5. Hairdryer
  6. Iron & ironing board
  7. Basic cleaning supplies such as sponge, glass cleaner, trash bags, laundry detergent & dishwashing liquid

We highly encourage leaving your worries and stress at home too.

2. We’re okay with paying a cleaning fee. But can you tell me exactly how clean the unit will be when we get there?

Excellent question! The StayCoastal Vacations team values and understands just how hard you’ve worked to earn this time away. Here are just a few ways we ensure an immaculate, well stocked home awaits you:Each vacation home is thoroughly cleaned before and after each guest. This not only includes dusting, vacuuming and mopping of all surface areas, but also: windows & sliding doors washed (inside, outside, tracks & screens), dishes cleaned and placed back in the cupboards, all kitchen appliances (including the inside of the refrigerator), sanitization of all surface areas, and toiletry/supply replenishment.All of the vacation home bedding is changed out with every cleaning–including all duvet covers. Many management companies in our area do not change out their comforters or blankets on a regular basis. In fact, some management companies will dry clean their comforters only twice per year! StayCoastal Vacations upholds a much higher cleanliness standard and this would never be acceptable.

Our dedicated Turnover Services team follows strict cleaning guidelines and checklists with every cleaning. Our team has been trained to use the appropriate cleaning products, the proper cleaning methods and share in our vision of what an “immaculate home” truly means. Our Turnover Services team is a very critical piece of your vacation experience.Each vacation home is walked through before and after each guest. We look for any items out of place or in need of immediate attention, the overall condition of the rental, and to prep it for our incoming guests. We take great pride in preparing your vacation home and add personal touches that will make you feel more than welcomed.

3. Do you provide beach or water toys?

Each vacation home comes with beach chairs and a beach cooler. Limited supply of beach umbrellas, water toys and beach toys are available by request. They can be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.playing in the beach on a StayCoastal Vacation

4. What type of baby equipment do you provide?

Each vacation home comes standard with a pack-n-play for the little ones. A limited supply of high chairs are available by request, and on a first come, first serve basis. If all items have been reserved, we will provide contact information for local baby equipment rental agencies.we provide pack-n-plays for your convenience

5. How many parking spaces will we receive?

Each vacation home located in North Coast Village (NCV) has 1 assigned parking space in the gated, underground parking garages. The NCV parking garages allow entrance for vehicles of up to 6 ½ ft in height, and 21 ft in length. Should you need additional parking please ask about the following options:24-hour parking permits: Temporary permits can be issued from the NCV HOA office. Vehicles must be moved once during a 24-hour window to avoid a $50 parking violation

Rentable Parking Space: We are excited to offer the convenience of a rentable parking space by the week! Please inquire for weekly rate details.Should you wish to book our lovely Coastal Cottage Haven, parking is on the driveway or off-street.

6. Do your vacation homes have Air Conditioning (AC)?

If the vacation home is located in North Coast Village, AC is not available. However, standalone fans and ceiling fans are provided for added comfort.The Coastal Cottage Haven has a central AC and heating system. The home also uses a tankless water heater and has numerous ceiling fans for comfort.StayCoastal Vacations provides fans for guest convenience

7. What are the deposits and taxes applied to my reservation?

DepositsNorth Coast Village ReservationsA non-refundable $49 Security Damage Waiver Fee is applied to all reservations. This is a non-refundable fee and covers up to $500 is accidental damages during your stay. Any costs incurred above this amount is the responsibility of the guest and will be billed separately. This deposit covers up to $500 in accidental damages during your stay and extra cleaning required should the home be left in a condition not as originally found. Please see more details on the Damage Deposit  here.TaxesTaxes on reservations less than 29 nightsThe guest is responsible for paying the following taxes on any reservation less than 29 nights. The taxes are assessed on the rental cost only:    10% Transient Occupancy Tax (T.O.T)    1.5% Oceanside Tourism Marketing District Assessment (O.T.M.D)No taxes are assessed on any reservation of 29 nights (or more). Yay!

8. What are your payment terms?

Fifty percent (50%) of the total reservation amount is due at the time of booking with the remaining balance due 60 (90 days for stays of 29 nights or longer) before your check-in.  However:    If your check-in date is within 60 days of booking, then the full payment will be due.    If your reservation is for 29 nights (or longer), and your check-in date is within 90 days of booking, then the full payment will be dueWe accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Payment by credit card is required for the initial booking and must remain valid for the entire duration of your stay.

9. Okay! I want to book, how do I make a reservation?

Simple! Navigate to your desired vacation rentalClick directly on the calendar and choose your check-in date and check-out date. Your selection will be highlighted in blue.Select the Security Damage Waiver Fee $49 (or $500 Damage Deposit for some homes) and any desired extras. Click “Continue”You will then see a booking summary of charges. Please fill in all required fields including payment details & be sure to review the  terms and conditions. Click “Continue”  to move through the final submissionYou will receive an immediate email response for your reservation request. A reservation will be considered confirmed once a payment has been approved (typically within 24 hrs). If we have any questions prior to processing your payment, we will contact you. Otherwise, please expect an emailed receipt of your payment as final confirmation of your reservation.

10. How do we check-in?

StayCoastal Vacations offers personal check-in service to our guests. We will meet our guests between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm on your arrival date. Before you arrive, we will contact you to establish a prearranged 30 minute arrival window to ensure a smooth check-in. Should your plans change or you will need to arrive after 6:00 pm, then you will be provided details for check-in by the North Coast Village patrol office or via the property lockbox. 

11. Can I bring my fur baby (pet)?

We love our furry friends too! However, no pets are allowed at any StayCoastal Vacations property. Please see more details on our pets policy here.

12. Can we smoke at the home?

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside of our properties. However, you may smoke on the balcony or outside. If you wish to smoke on the balconies/patios, kindly close all windows and sliding screen doors.

13. Is there anything else I should know about the area before I book?Oceanside is a fantastic choice for a family getaway! Most of our vacation homes are located at the tropical resort-like complex of North Coast Village. There are many places to eat, shop, relax and sight see all within a short distance of the complex. See our North Coast Village travel guide here.One thing many guests have asked about, is the train noise. As locals ourselves, we fondly say the train is part of Southern California coastal living. You may hear the train from within the complex. However, it is more of a distant sound.If you are a light sleeper, please let us know.
